BASIC SNORKEL AWARD TRAINING

Lectures in the form of workbooks aimed at the relevant age group should be fully integrated with pool training. This would include some form of action/assessment sheets for each lecture. It is envisaged that such informal assessment should be done at instructor level at the poolside as part of ongoing training. Summary sheets detailing basic knowledge required for each lecture could be given to adults wishing to undertake the award.

No BCD or weight belt required.

Pool assessment broken down and expanded. Enables instructors to build on previous sessions whilst giving children a sense of achievement within individual pool sessions. E.g. Aim for 5m underwater swim, then progress to 10m, 15m etc.
