An Overview of SSAC Organisational Structure

The Scottish Sub Aqua Club is governed by the Board of Directors, elected by the Membership and responsible for the legal governance of the company. The Board have appointed a Management Committee known as the General Committee, responsible for the day to day running of the organisation. Each individual branch is governed by it's Branch Committee. Whilst the General Committee is the central administration body of SSAC, organisation and administration is carried out at branch level wherever possible.

The National Diving Council (NDC) is responsible for all the diving and training activities of SSAC under the National Diving Officer. The NDC sets and maintains high standards of training and provides information on all questions concerning diving and training. Decisions made at NDC meetings are presented at the General Committee for ratification. Meeting minutes are distributed to all Branch Diving Officers. The NDC meets at least four times a year and organises an annual Diving Officer's Conference.

In addition, a number of Regional Instructors are undergoing training to become Regional Coaches. A number of the Task Force branches will be allocated specific Regional Coaches in the near future.
